Nobody ever did the job you did of checking that aircraft avoidance beacon on the Stuart bureau.

You saved an untold number of lives with your daily diligence.

Glenn was a great bureau chief, but he had a “if they die, they die and I won’t have to pay mileage to cover the story typical management attitude.”

The job was never the same after you left for The Big Time.

I put out a tip jar, but the only tip I got was, “Don’t give up your day job.”

I don’t HAVE a day job.

It’s amazing how quickly we all seemed to go our separate ways this past year. Sad.

Great pictures, Ken! You could make a living doing that.

It was fun reminiscing about covering the Queen in the Bahamas and talking about covering Okeechobee murders and TCoast serial killers.

And, since Glenn said he was concerned about the pictures I had of him in West Palm Beach always holding a beer, I tried to shoot him without beer ads in the background or a glass in his hand.

Kinda like when I was assigned to shoot pictures in a bar or night club.

I’d stand up on a chair or table and announce in a loud voice, “I’m here to shoot pictures for the newspaper. If there’s anybody here with somebody you should be with, I encourage you to move to THAT corner. I’ll make sure NOT to aim my camera in that direction tonight.”

That saved a lot of relationships and probably saved me from being found cameraless and unconscious in the parking lot.
